Fresh confrontations have erupted in central Tbilisi between supporters of the ruling political faction and demonstrators opposing its mayoral candidate. The clashes occurred as protestors began marching toward the parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue.
This incident follows similar unrest in the same location just two days prior, when law enforcement detained more than twenty individuals during protests. The recurring demonstrations highlight growing political friction surrounding local government appointments in the Georgian capital.
