POLITICAL CHANGE REQUIRES SUSTAINED PUBLIC PRESSURE, SAYS OPPOSITION FIGURE

YEREVAN – Meaningful political change can only be achieved through persistent and forceful public pressure, according to a member of the opposition “Hayastan” faction.

In a recent media appearance, Ishkhan Saghatelyan argued that without significant street-level mobilization, efforts to advance political processes, such as an impeachment, are destined to fail. He stated that compelling a sufficient number of deputies to support such a measure requires creating a tangible “dual power” dynamic in the country.

Saghatelyan emphasized that nominating candidates or pursuing procedural avenues alone is insufficient. He contended that only when popular struggle reaches a critical mass will the necessary political leverage be generated to force decisive action within the legislature.
