ZELENSKY ACCUSES CHINA OF ENABLING RUSSIAN AGGRESSION AT UN SESSION

In a pointed address to the United Nations Security Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asserted that China possesses significant leverage to halt Russia’s military campaign but has chosen not to exercise it.

Zelensky contended that Beijing’s economic and political support is vital to Moscow’s capacity to sustain its offensive. “If China genuinely sought peace, it could compel the Kremlin to end its invasion,” he stated. “Yet China remains passive, failing to act decisively for peace.”

The Ukrainian leader also highlighted the United States as another key player capable of influencing Russian actions. He noted his recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed that Kyiv has consistently backed American proposals for ceasefires and negotiations. According to Zelensky, Moscow has systematically rejected or obfuscated these initiatives, preventing any truce from materializing.

Zelensky further accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of evading direct dialogue, alleging that the Russian leader is unwilling to confront Ukraine and the international community openly. “Putin avoids honest engagement,” Zelensky declared, “while his representatives at the UN offer no substantive solutions.” He characterized Putin’s diplomatic appearances abroad as a tactical maneuver to buy time for continued hostilities.
