A member of the “Hayastan” parliamentary faction has suggested that an upcoming constitutional referendum could become a significant trigger for public mobilization against the current government. He emphasized that building substantial street presence is a necessary precursor to any successful motion of no confidence.
The official indicated that the administration might attempt to proceed with the referendum ahead of the next parliamentary elections. He pointed to the electoral process and the period immediately following the vote as a potential window for a political transition.
Reflecting on past opposition strategies, the lawmaker did not dismiss the possibility of a scenario similar to the “Gyumri-2” model playing out nationally during the elections. He expressed confidence that opposition forces could reach a cooperative understanding, mirroring previous successful local alliances. He noted that there is currently no major obstacle preventing such a political arrangement.
