HUNGARIAN PM CALLS ON UKRAINIAN LEADER TO CEASE DIPLOMATIC PRESSURE

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has publicly called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to end what he describes as a campaign of diplomatic pressure against his country.

In a social media post, Orbán emphasized Hungary’s status as a member of both NATO and the European Union, while suggesting that Ukraine would face collapse without the backing of these institutions. He directly addressed the Ukrainian president, urging him to halt what he termed as “pursuit” of Hungarian interests.

Tensions between the two nations have been escalating, with Zelenskyy previously criticizing Hungary’s role in regional diplomacy. The Ukrainian leader has asserted that Budapest lacks sufficient influence over Moscow to serve as a credible mediator in peace talks with Russia.

The dispute intensified recently following Zelenskyy’s warning that Ukrainian forces would take action if Hungarian aircraft were again detected near the shared border. This statement came in response to reports of unidentified drones operating in the border region.
