YEREVAN – President Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted the Ambassador of Cyprus, Michael Mauriti, in a meeting held to mark Armenia’s Independence Day. The two officials discussed deepening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
In his remarks, the President emphasized the long-standing friendship and solidarity between Armenia and Cyprus, describing the island nation as a reliable partner. He expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by the Cypriot government, particularly during challenging periods.
Ambassador Mauriti conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening ties between the two countries. He noted that efforts would focus on expanding collaboration into new sectors and deepening existing partnerships.
Both sides welcomed the recent establishment of resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia, a step expected to facilitate more effective cooperation. The officials also underscored the importance of promoting peace and stability in the region.
