YEREVAN – A landmark agreement will introduce the Emarat petroleum brand to Armenia, establishing a new nationwide network of service stations that promises to elevate fuel quality and service standards across the country.
The partnership brings together Emirates Petroleum Company PJSC (Emarat), a prominent UAE energy retailer, and MegaTrade, a leading Armenian fuel company operating under SIL Capital’s investment portfolio. The collaboration will develop and operate Emarat-branded stations throughout Armenia, implementing international standards for fuel quality, safety protocols, and customer service.
The formal signing ceremony occurred at Yerevan’s Albert Hall, attended by municipal and diplomatic representatives alongside senior business leaders from both nations. Eduard Sukiasyan, Chairman of SIL Capital and MegaTrade shareholder, emphasized the partnership’s significance for Armenian consumers.
“This collaboration marks a substantial advancement for Armenia’s energy sector,” Sukiasyan stated. “By integrating international expertise with local capabilities, we aim to establish unprecedented service benchmarks that benefit consumers nationwide.”
Emarat’s Chief Executive highlighted the strategic importance of entering the Armenian market, noting the partnership would combine global operational standards with local market knowledge. “This expansion represents our commitment to delivering superior fuel products and service experiences while fostering regional economic cooperation,” the executive commented.
Industry observers anticipate the venture will generate substantial investment, create employment opportunities, and position Armenia as an emerging hub for international petroleum retail services in the region. The partnership aims to implement scalable operational models that blend international expertise with local market understanding.
Emarat, established in 1981, operates as a national energy provider in the United Arab Emirates, recognized for its fuel quality and retail innovation. MegaTrade, founded in 2020, manages one of Armenia’s largest fuel station networks under the Run Oil brand and maintains significant operations in bitumen production and distribution through regional facilities.
