The German Chancellor has voiced strong disapproval of Israel’s military operations in Gaza and its settlement activities in the West Bank, labeling the latter as illegal. Speaking at a press conference in Berlin alongside the Belgian Prime Minister, the Chancellor stated that many actions by the Israeli government and military in Gaza are unacceptable.
He emphasized that Germany is becoming increasingly firm in its decision to limit arms supplies to Israel. While noting that conditions for recognizing a Palestinian state are not yet fulfilled, the Chancellor asserted that Israel should not dismiss the possibility of such a state.
The Chancellor condemned Israeli resettlement projects, stating they are clearly designed to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and contradict the official stance of the German government.
