ARMENIA ANNOUNCES MAJOR OVERHAUL OF DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

YEREVAN – A comprehensive reform of Armenia’s diplomatic corps was announced during a high-level meeting held on August 27. The initiative focuses on modernizing the service through legal, financial, and administrative updates, with a particular emphasis on enhancing consular operations.

Senior officials outlined a detailed report on the progress achieved since the previous review in 2024 and laid out a roadmap for future activities. The planned changes are centered on improving the efficiency and capabilities of the nation’s diplomatic missions abroad.

Key legislative amendments to the Law on Diplomatic Service were highlighted as a cornerstone of the modernization effort. These proposed changes are intended to streamline operations and better equip the foreign service to meet contemporary international challenges.
