TURKEY CONDITIONS BORDER OPENING ON ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN PEACE DEAL

YEREVAN – Turkey has expressed readiness to open its border with Armenia, but only after a peace agreement is finalized between Armenia and Azerbaijan, according to Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Mirzoyan indicated that with the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty now initialed, the logical next step would be resolving infrastructure issues between Armenia and Turkey. He noted that Turkey’s primary interest lies in restoring transportation links before the border can be fully reopened.

“We currently maintain active diplomatic engagement with Turkey,” the Foreign Minister stated, describing the dialogue between the two nations as progressing steadily.

The announcement comes as regional diplomatic efforts intensify following the initialing of the peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku.
