ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN AGREE ON CROSS-BORDER TRANSPORT LINKS

YEREVAN – Armenia and Azerbaijan have reached an understanding on mutual access to infrastructure, including transit routes through Armenian territory connecting Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave. The arrangement will facilitate both international and domestic transport operations for Armenia.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan confirmed that border checkpoints will be established under the sovereignty, jurisdiction, and territorial integrity of both nations. He emphasized that the land through which Azerbaijani infrastructure passes on Armenian territory will remain the property of the Republic of Armenia.

Mirzoyan also addressed recent speculation regarding long-term lease agreements, stating that such rumors are unfounded and do not reflect the actual terms under discussion.
