YEREVAN – Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with senior French diplomatic official Benjemen Hadd during an official visit to Paris on September 15. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and emphasized their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The discussions focused extensively on Armenia’s ongoing European integration efforts. Minister Kostanyan detailed his government’s recent initiatives to enhance cooperation with European institutions, following recent legislative developments. Particular attention was given to exploring new avenues for Armenia-France collaboration within this European framework.
The upcoming European Political Community summit, scheduled to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, featured prominently in the dialogue. Officials discussed preparatory measures for this significant international gathering.
Regional peace processes also formed a key part of the agenda. The Armenian delegation provided an overview of recent developments in normalization talks with Azerbaijan, including discussions that took place in Washington during August. Armenia’s perspective on establishing lasting peace in the region was thoroughly presented.
