ARMENIA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO REFUGEE SUPPORT AT HIGH-LEVEL FORUM

YEREVAN – Armenia has reiterated its dedication to addressing the needs of refugees and advancing their integration into society, as highlighted during a recent high-level roundtable discussion focused on the country’s international pledges.

Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the event, which centered on the implementation of Armenia’s voluntary commitments made at the World Refugee Forum. In his remarks, the Deputy Minister praised the ongoing collaboration with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in Armenia and underscored the government’s resolve in tackling refugee-related challenges.

The discussion emphasized the shift from emergency response to a long-term strategy of development and integration for displaced populations. Officials noted that Armenia’s current policies are designed to ensure that the immediate needs of refugees are met while simultaneously fostering their sustainable inclusion into the social and economic fabric of the country.

Key priorities for the 2025-2027 period were outlined, with a focus on continuing the programs already in motion. The importance of sustained support from international donor partners was also stressed, as such backing is considered crucial for the continuity and success of these initiatives.

The roundtable attracted a wide range of participants, including representatives from various Armenian government bodies, international organizations accredited in the country, diplomatic missions, financial institutions, and members of civil society and the academic community.
