ARMENIAN MIDFIELDER FACES POTENTIAL 10-MATCH BAN FOLLOWING RACISM ALLEGATIONS

YEREVAN – Armenian international footballer Eduard Spertsyan could face a significant suspension following allegations made during a recent Russian Premier League match. The Krasnodar midfielder may receive up to a 10-game disqualification if found guilty of misconduct charges.

According to official regulations from the Russian Football Union, players can be suspended for up to ten matches and fined for actions that publicly humiliate individuals, including through media channels or internet platforms. The disciplinary measures are outlined in paragraph 44 of the organization’s regulatory framework.

The controversy stems from a recent domestic league encounter where Spertsyan received a direct red card after an altercation with an opposing defender. Following the match, the opponent claimed the Armenian international had directed racist remarks toward him during the heated exchange that led to the dismissal.

The incident occurred during the 11th round of Russian Premier League competition when play was halted after Spertsyan was judged to have struck an opponent. The subsequent allegations have now triggered a formal disciplinary process that could result in substantial consequences for the prominent midfielder.
