YEREVAN – Armenian weightlifter Gor Sahakyan has secured a silver medal in the snatch event at the World Weightlifting Championships. Competing in the 71 kg category, the athlete successfully lifted 154 kilograms to earn a place on the podium.
Sahakyan’s campaign concluded during the clean and jerk portion of the competition, where he was unable to complete a lift of 182 kilograms.
The athlete brings a decorated record to the platform, having previously earned a world bronze medal, two European championship titles, and a silver medal earlier this year.
