Barcelona’s iconic Camp Nou stadium is set to reopen next month, though club officials are reportedly considering a brief delay to accommodate significantly more spectators.
The football club is expected to receive the necessary operating license in October, which would initially allow the stadium to welcome 27,000 fans. However, management is weighing the financial benefits of postponing the reopening until November, when capacity could increase to 45,000 attendees.
The decision comes as Barcelona continues playing home matches at the Olympic Stadium, where recent fixtures have drawn crowds exceeding 50,000 spectators. The potential November reopening would see Camp Nou host its first match against Girona.
The comprehensive renovation of Camp Nou remains on schedule for full completion in summer 2026, marking the final phase of the stadium’s major reconstruction project.
