COMMUNITY LEADER MURDER CASE: SUSPECT CITES REVENGE AS MOTIVE

YEREVAN – A suspect in the murder of a community leader has reportedly confessed to the crime, claiming it was an act of revenge.

According to official statements, the individual accused of killing Volodya Grigoryan, head of the Parakar community, has provided testimony alleging that the victim was responsible for the death of a close friend. The suspect claims this connection motivated the attack.

The incident occurred on the evening of September 23 near the victim’s residence, where Grigoryan and another individual, Karen Abrahamyan, were fatally shot. A third person sustained gunshot injuries during the altercation.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that investigative efforts led to the recovery of critical evidence, including a firearm believed to be the murder weapon. The suspect reportedly directed authorities to the location where the rifle was hidden.

A second individual, identified as a 20-year-old resident of Merdzavan, has also been detained in connection with the case. Investigators indicate that one of the suspects has cooperated with the investigation, while another individual questioned in the matter has declined to provide testimony.

The investigation into the deadly shooting continues as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
