YEREVAN – A city court has altered the preventive measure for an 18-year-old individual detained in connection with a political activism case. The accused, identified as Andranik Chamichyan, will now remain in custody following a judicial review.
The hearing took place at the Ajapnyak district court, where authorities presented their case against the young man. He faces allegations related to his participation in a public demonstration, according to law enforcement sources.
The investigation has expanded to include multiple locations, with officials conducting searches at properties connected to members of a political organization. Among those affected are senior party figures, including the chief of staff of one political bloc.
Seven individuals have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing probe, including the son of a prominent political figure and a member of a city committee. The case continues to develop as authorities pursue their investigation into the political activities in question.
