DEFENSE COUNSEL CHALLENGES INVESTIGATION IN HIGH-PROFILE CASE

Defense attorney Vahan Hovhannisyan has raised serious questions about the handling of a criminal investigation involving his client, Narek Ohanyan. The lawyer contends that investigators have overlooked critical evidence while pursuing what he describes as a predetermined theory of guilt.

According to the defense, home security footage exists that documents his client’s movements during the relevant time period. This evidence, which has reportedly not been seized by authorities, would allegedly contradict the hypothesis of Ohanyan’s involvement in the incident.

The attorney noted that in similar cases, investigators typically secure and review all available video recordings from the area. He expressed concern that the investigative body has engaged in what he termed “inadmissible behavior,” suggesting that officials began with a conclusion of guilt rather than conducting a comprehensive and impartial examination of the evidence.

Hovhannisyan stated that his client did not refuse to provide testimony but instead gave a detailed account that denied any participation in the events under investigation. The defense maintains that the available evidence supports this position.
