DETENTION OF “HOLY STRUGGLE” MOVEMENT FIGURE EXTENDED BY THREE MONTHS

A Yerevan court has prolonged the pretrial detention of Arsen Ghazaryan, a key figure in the ongoing “Holy Struggle” case, for an additional three-month period. The ruling was issued by Judge Karen Farhoyan of the Yerevan Court of First Instance.

Ghazaryan is among a group of individuals accused of conspiring to seize governmental control in Armenia. According to the official charges, the alleged plot was organized between November 2024 and the following months. The group, which reportedly includes Movses Sharbatyan, Tigran Topalyan, and several others, is alleged to have taken concrete steps toward what authorities describe as a planned seizure of power.

Prosecutors claim the defendants prepared for acts of terrorism and orchestrated conditions intended to destabilize the country’s leadership. The case continues to develop as the judicial process moves forward.
