FRANCE APPOINTS NEW PRIME MINISTER FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT COLLAPSE

France has a new head of government following the swift resignation of the previous administration. Sebastian has been officially appointed as Prime Minister after his predecessor, Francois Byru, failed to secure a vote of confidence from lawmakers.

The new premier brings extensive governmental experience to the role, having served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Armed Forces since 2022. His previous cabinet positions include Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Territorial Communities, and Secretary of State for Ecological Transition.

The political transition occurred rapidly, with the outgoing prime minister tendering his resignation during a final meeting with the country’s leadership before departing the capital.

This change in government leadership marks a significant shift in France’s political landscape as the new administration prepares to take charge of the nation’s affairs.
