French President Emmanuel Macron has announced his nation’s official recognition of the Palestinian state during an address to the United Nations. The declaration comes amid ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict in Gaza.
President Macron emphasized the urgent need to conclude military operations in Gaza and secure the release of 48 hostages still held by Hamas. “We cannot afford further delays,” the French leader stated.
While condemning the October 7th assault on Israel, Macron advocated for a two-state resolution as the foundation for regional stability. “No justification exists for the continuation of this conflict,” he asserted, adding that “all circumstances demand we bring it to an end.”
