GAZA FACES DEEPENING HUMANITARIAN CRISIS AS MALNUTRITION AND CASUALTIES MOUNT

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with official sources reporting a significant increase in malnutrition-related deaths. The death toll from starvation and related complications has risen by ten, bringing the total to 313 fatalities, including 119 children.

International aid organizations report a sharp decline in humanitarian assistance reaching the territory over the past two weeks, with medical supplies completely halted. According to relief agencies, approximately one million children in Gaza now face the most severe classification of malnutrition, while half a million residents confront catastrophic hunger conditions.

Meanwhile, ongoing military operations have resulted in additional casualties, with Palestinian health authorities reporting 26 fatalities from Israeli military actions since August 27. Approximately 80 Palestinians sustained injuries during recent operations in the West Bank city of Nablus.

Israeli military officials have reiterated that the evacuation of Gaza City remains necessary, promising humanitarian assistance to families relocating to southern areas.

The conflict, which escalated in October 2023, has resulted in extensive casualties according to health ministry figures, though precise numbers remain contested. The military campaign began in response to attacks that killed approximately 1,200 people and resulted in hundreds of captives.

The situation remains dire as international efforts to deliver essential supplies face continued obstacles, exacerbating the already critical conditions for Gaza’s civilian population.
