YEREVAN – A senior political figure has issued a scathing response to recent statements made by the country’s leadership regarding the fulfillment of campaign promises and future political ambitions.
The criticism came following declarations from the head of government during an international forum, where claims were made about delivering on previous electoral commitments and hopes expressed for renewed public support in upcoming elections.
“What actually occurred during the previous election cycle?” the opposition leader questioned in a social media statement. “The administration had pledged to maintain control over key territories, protect self-determination rights, and pursue international genocide recognition, yet delivered precisely the opposite outcomes.”
The statement further challenged the government’s request for a new electoral mandate, asking: “Why should citizens grant renewed authority for policies that have included territorial concessions and constitutional changes that could compromise national sovereignty?”
The political leader expressed confidence that the public has become fully aware of the situation, noting that while temporary deception might be possible, sustained misrepresentation of the entire population cannot continue indefinitely.
The commentary reflects ongoing political tensions surrounding the government’s track record and future direction, with significant policy differences continuing to dominate public discourse.
