Officials from Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports recently conducted a field visit to the Aragatsotn region to assess ongoing preservation and restoration efforts at several historic monuments.
In the village of Parpi, work is underway at the Tsiranovor Church complex. Restoration teams are currently engaged in documenting architectural details, including ornamental fragments and decorative eaves, with plans to replace damaged sections where necessary.
The visit also included a stop at the Amberd Castle historical and cultural reserve. There, officials reviewed progress on stabilizing the castle’s foundations and clearing debris from collapsed sections of the citadel towers. These efforts have revealed new archaeological findings, which are now under further study.
The restoration initiatives are part of broader measures to protect and maintain Armenia’s cultural heritage amid ongoing preservation challenges.
