A trial currently underway in Baku concerning the former military-political leadership of Artsakh has seen significant requests for witness testimony. During the proceedings, Major General David Manukyan and former Artsakh Foreign Minister David Babayan formally petitioned for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to be called as witnesses. Babayan further advocated for legal action against the former co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, including Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.
In a separate legal move, former Artsakh Speaker Davit Ishkhanyan submitted a petition to involve senior Russian military officials in the trial. His request specifically named six generals who commanded peacekeeping forces, including Generals Muradov, Kosabokov, Lentov, and Kulakov.
These petitions highlight the defendants’ strategy of seeking testimony from high-level international and domestic figures connected to the region’s recent history.
