KREMLIN SPOKESMAN COMMENTS ON TRUMP’S UKRAINE REMARKS

MOSCOW – The Kremlin has characterized recent statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine as emotionally charged but understandable, according to a spokesperson for the Russian presidency.

Dmitry Peskov, speaking to reporters, acknowledged Trump’s continued engagement with efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict. “We note that the United States and President Trump personally maintain their intention to contribute to a Ukrainian settlement,” Peskov stated. “Naturally, President Trump approaches this matter with considerable emotion, which is quite comprehensible.”

The Russian official reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to diplomatic solutions, asserting that President Vladimir Putin remains dedicated to achieving peace through negotiation. Peskov contrasted this position with what he described as confrontational approaches allegedly pursued by Ukrainian authorities and certain European nations.

The comments follow Trump’s recent critique of Putin’s stance on Ukraine, which the American political figure characterized as disappointing.
