MOLDOVA HOLDS PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS TO SELECT NEW LEGISLATURE

Voters across Moldova are casting ballots today to elect all 101 members of the country’s national parliament. Polling stations opened at 7:00 AM local time and will continue operating until 9:00 PM.

Approximately three million registered citizens are eligible to participate in the democratic process, with voting facilities established both within the country and at international locations to accommodate Moldovans living abroad. A total of 2,274 polling stations have been made available for voters.

The electoral field features competition among numerous political organizations and independent contenders. Voters will choose from candidates representing eighteen different political parties along with four unaffiliated individuals seeking parliamentary seats.

The election represents a significant moment for the Eastern European nation as citizens determine the composition of their legislative body for the coming term.
