The National Olympic Committee of Armenia convened a regular session today to address the critical role of athletics in safeguarding the wellbeing of younger generations. The meeting centered on the theme “Sports for a Healthy Future.”
During the proceedings, the committee’s Secretary General emphasized that the discussion transcended conventional athletic achievements. “This subject touches upon our collective future—our children and subsequent generations,” the official stated. “When challenges emerge in our society, particularly those affecting the health of our youth, we must mobilize all available resources.”
The Secretary General further articulated that organized sports could serve as a powerful deterrent against substance abuse and other harmful behaviors among adolescents. “Athletic participation represents one of our most effective tools for steering young people away from dangerous paths and toward productive lifestyles,” the official noted.
The assembly concluded with commitments to develop concrete initiatives that would expand sports accessibility for Armenian youth, positioning athletic programs as fundamental components of public health strategy.
