POLICE SEIZE DRUGS IN GYUMRI FOLLOWING UNDERCOVER OPERATION

Law enforcement officers in the Amasia division have arrested two individuals following an operation targeting the alleged sale of narcotics at a restaurant in Gyumri.

Acting on operational intelligence, police identified and detained a 35-year-old resident of Yerevan and another man in the Amasia area. During a personal search, a substance resembling marijuana was discovered on the 35-year-old suspect, who reportedly admitted to acquiring it through the Telegram messaging application.

A subsequent search of the scene led to the discovery of four additional packages containing more than six grams of a similar substance believed to be marijuana. Both suspects have been taken into custody as criminal proceedings have been initiated. The vehicle involved has been moved to a secure location.

A preliminary investigation is currently underway to determine the full circumstances of the case.
