Authorities in Armenia’s Lori region have uncovered a significant cannabis cultivation operation following a police investigation in Vanadzor.
Law enforcement officials received intelligence indicating a 53-year-old local resident was involved in illegal drug activities. The investigation revealed the individual had been growing and processing cannabis plants on his property.
During a search conducted on October 3, police discovered approximately 40 cannabis plants growing along walls of the property, along with dried plant material stored in containers. The suspect reportedly admitted to cultivating the plants during questioning, claiming the marijuana was intended for personal consumption.
The scale of the operation became apparent when authorities determined the total cultivation area exceeded seven kilitares. Criminal charges have been filed in the case, and the suspect has been taken into custody pending further legal proceedings.
The case has been transferred to judicial authorities for pre-trial investigation as the legal process continues to unfold.
