POLITICAL LEADER WARNS OF NATIONAL IDENTITY EROSION

A senior political figure has issued a stark warning about systematic efforts to dismantle Armenia’s national identity, framing it as a deliberate strategy to weaken the country’s sovereignty.

The official criticized what he termed an artificial and dangerous division being created within the nation, comparing it to forcing a choice between two inseparable parts of the country’s heritage. He argued that true patriotism requires embracing all aspects of national history and symbols, not selectively discarding them.

According to the official, victorious wars historically strengthen national cohesion, but recent conflicts have had the opposite effect—diminishing the Armenian people from a unified nation to a fragmented population. He claimed ongoing psychological and informational campaigns have further reduced the country’s collective identity to its most basic ethnic level.

The official alleged that these actions serve a clear purpose: by lowering the level of national identity, the country’s interests become more primitive and easier to trade in the global geopolitical arena. He warned that a leader who once symbolized national hope is now attempting to alter the nation’s fundamental historical character.

The statement concluded by asserting that this “monstrous operation” remains ongoing, but the nation still has an opportunity to resist and hold those responsible accountable. The official drew historical parallels to figures motivated by destructive ambition, while expressing confidence that the Armenian people would ultimately reject this path.
