A new department dedicated to strategic partnership and cooperation has been created within the Russian presidential administration, according to a decree that took effect today. The move comes as part of a broader restructuring that dissolves two existing departments.
The departments for interregional relations and cultural ties with foreign countries, including their border cooperation functions, have been formally disbanded. Presidential Chief of Staff has been given a three-month timeframe to implement the necessary organizational and staffing changes. Personnel from the dissolved departments will continue in their roles until the restructuring is complete.
The eliminated departments were previously led by Igor Maslov. These units had been responsible for managing international projects aligned with Russia’s foreign policy objectives, coordinating cross-border initiatives, and preparing analytical reports for presidential review.
