Russia’s top diplomat in Yerevan has outlined Moscow’s approach to regional stability and pending infrastructure projects during recent remarks. Ambassador Sergey Kopirkin emphasized that maintaining peace in the South Caucasus remains a consistent foreign policy objective for Moscow, while acknowledging ongoing normalization efforts between neighboring states.
Regarding the proposed “Trump’s Path” transportation corridor, the ambassador indicated Russia would determine its official position once implementation specifics become clear. “Our assessment will follow after we obtain comprehensive details about how this infrastructure initiative would operate in practice,” Kopirkin stated, noting that preliminary examination of the project is currently underway.
The ambassador’s comments come amid continuing diplomatic engagement in the region, where multiple international players have expressed interest in transportation and economic connectivity projects. Russian officials have consistently stressed the importance of regional stability while taking measured approaches to new international proposals affecting the area.
