TURKEY CALLS FOR ECONOMIC PRESSURE ON ISRAEL

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged for increased economic restrictions against Israel, stating that coordinated international action is necessary to counter Israeli policies in the region.

Speaking on September 15, Erdogan emphasized that Israel’s current trajectory will only accelerate without what he termed a decisive international response. He called upon the League of Arab States and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to activate efforts toward tightening sanctions.

“We must utilize international legal mechanisms to ensure accountability for Israeli officials,” Erdogan stated. “Expanding our cooperation now is crucial for achieving results in the coming decade.”

The Turkish leader’s comments come amid ongoing regional tensions. Earlier this month, Hamas political leader Khalil al-Haya was killed in Gaza, an incident that drew condemnation from Qatar. Qatari officials described the strike as a violation of international law and norms.

The call for economic measures represents the latest development in the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the situation through multilateral channels.
