U.S. CONDEMNS RUSSIAN DRONE INCURSION INTO POLISH AIRSPACE

The United States has issued a formal response following the entry of Russian military drones into Polish airspace, labeling the incident a serious violation of territorial integrity. American officials have emphasized the need to respect the sovereignty of all nations and have reaffirmed their commitment to collective defense measures.

Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, U.S. Permanent Representative Dorothy Shin underscored Washington’s support for its NATO allies in light of what she described as a troubling breach of airspace. Shin confirmed that the United States is actively consulting with Polish authorities and other NATO members under Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which provides for consultations when a member’s territorial integrity or security is threatened.

“We stand firmly with our allies and remain unwavering in our commitment to defend every inch of NATO territory,” Shin stated.

The incident, which reportedly took place last Wednesday, involved the unauthorized penetration of Polish airspace by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. While the exact circumstances remain under review, the U.S. representative stressed that such actions undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts and demonstrate a disregard for international norms.

Shin further noted that even unintentional violations carry significant consequences and risk escalating regional tensions. The United States continues to monitor the situation closely and is coordinating with partners to ensure a unified and decisive response.
