Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has publicly acknowledged the significant contributions of a senior American official to the nation’s air defense capabilities, comparing their impact to that of advanced missile systems.
During recent discussions, the Ukrainian head of state expressed particular appreciation for General Kate Kellogg, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy, noting that her efforts have proven equally vital to Ukraine’s defensive operations as Patriot air defense batteries.
“We were previously unaware of this reality, but it has become evident that the United States provides defensive support that matches the importance of the Patriot systems,” Zelenskyy stated. “This becomes particularly apparent during your visits to the capital. When you’re in Kyiv, the city’s residents can finally experience somewhat more peaceful nights.”
In a gesture highlighting the value placed on this cooperation, the Ukrainian president extended an offer of citizenship to the American general, noting that only accommodation would need to be arranged to formalize the arrangement.
The comments underscore the continuing strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States amid ongoing security challenges, with diplomatic channels proving instrumental in strengthening defensive capabilities.
