VAHRAM KHACHATRYAN NAMED NEW GOVERNOR OF ARMAVIR

YEREVAN – Vahram Khachatryan has been selected to assume the role of Armavir Governor, with his official appointment scheduled for review during Wednesday’s government session.

Khachatryan currently serves as mayor of Metsamor community, a position he has held while navigating Armenia’s political landscape. His political trajectory took a notable turn in 2018 when, amid significant government transition, he publicly departed from his former political affiliation to align with the current administration.

The gubernatorial appointment represents a significant step in Khachatryan’s public service career, moving from municipal leadership to regional governance. The Armavir region, located in western Armenia, stands to benefit from fresh administrative leadership as it addresses regional development priorities.

Government officials are expected to formalize the appointment during tomorrow’s proceedings, marking another chapter in the ongoing evolution of regional leadership structures across the country.
